VM shutdown script

Source: microsoft.public.virtualserver

Message:

I am trying to automate a shutdown of virtual machines so that I can back up
their corresponding files. I am trying to get the following sample script
from microsoft working:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scriptcenter/scripts/vs/admin/vsadvb27.mspx

Unfortunately I get the following meesage when I run this:

"C:\shutdown_VM.vbs(12, 1) (null): The guest operating system could not be
shutdown."

The folowing is the scriptthat I am running:

' Shutdown specified VM
'

Option Explicit

Dim objVS, objVM, objGuestOS

Set objVS = CreateObject("VirtualServer.Application")
Set objVM = objVS.FindVirtualMachine("machine_name")

Set objGuestOS = objVM.GuestOS
objGuestOS.Shutdown()

The guest OS is Windows 2003 EE. Any ideas or better ways of achieving this
backup. TIA
