Changing guest OS to SCSI adapter from IDE

Gurus,

I have a server with SCSI disks. When I setup Virtual Server 2005 R2 on
this server and then installed Windows Server 2003 SP1 guest OS, it
defaulted to "IDE" drive for the guest OS. I went and edited the
configuration of the guest OS and added a SCSI adapter. How now, do I have
the server "change to" using this SCSI disk. I want to do this to make the
Windows Server 2003 guest OS perform faster.

Boot with the SCSI adapter connected but with the drives still connected
to IDE. Remove and reinstall the Additions. Reboot. Shut down, move the
drives from IDE to SCSI. Boot. Done.

Why would you do that? The shunt driver is there to be used when
installing to a SCSI device. The procedure I outlined will make sure
that the latest driver from the additions is being used and that is what
is important.
