I have a dual AMD Opteron server with 16Gb Ram, and a couple SATA
raids. I am considering putting 64 bit versions of Server 2003 R2 and
Virtual Server R2 so I can run 2 SBS 2003 domains. One domain will have
5 users and run Live Communication Server as well. The other SBS server
will only support 3 remote users. and a seperate Terminal Server.

Any one know of any issues running SBS on 64 bit Virtual Server Or
should I just load 32 bit versions of everything?

the virtual machines can only be 32-bit machines regardless of the host

It always depends on what you are doing exactly, but it should work. Check
microsoft.com to see if SBS2003 is a supported OS for Virtual Server.

While Virtual Server emulates one CPU per Virtual Machine, it can utilize
all host CPUs to run Virtual Machines. The emulated CPU is 32bit, though, so
only 32bit GuestOS can run in the Virtual Machine.

In other words, having two logical AMD CPUs, you can run one Virtual Machine
on each logical CPU.

For the usage scenario you stated, your servers should work and is an
overkill.

I am with you, we had a 64 HP DL 580 ADM 64 bit processor and we had nothing
but problems with the 64bit, we purchased them just as HP made them
available. So we have not made the move but have the ability.
