Does anybody knows by any chance how to migrate NT4 / Win2000 boxes with the
software raid1 disks to VS2005 using VSMT?

By analyzing NT4 xml file I'm receiving the following error:

Hi
The source NT4 server must be running NTFS. Fat32 is unsupported. You have
dynamic disks on your Win 2000 server and that is also not supported for
migration.

So just disolve your software raid 1 back to a single drive, and revert back
to a basic disk. Then it should work.

Do you think I could manage to run software raid1 on fat32 disks ?

Anyway, it doesn't sound good and frankly speaking, I'm impressed with that
MS campaign to migrate everything from nt4 and win2000 to a their virtual
server and after that MS doesn't support the most common production server
configuration? Weird.

I'll try to open a case with MS and look what they can say.
