Hello,

This I must say that virtual server 2005 R2 is very cool. However, Iv
noticed its takes "forever!" to install the guest OS. Perhaps Im doing
something wrong. I created two virtual systems each with 16GB fixed SCSI
disk, and 2.5GB of ram. The host is a 64 bit 2003 Std with a 3.4GHz soon to
be dual 3.4GHz, and 6GB of ram. Also adding 4 more 15k drives in raid 10 to
store the virtual disks.

My question is why does it take so long to install the guest OS? Am I
missing something, or does it just take this long?

Yep its there. I found it once I went to mount a VFD.
1. Press F6 durring setup to add SCSI drive.
2. Mount VFD with SCSI shurt driver
3. Select driver to install in setup.

Right?

Im going to install another guest just to see how much of a differance it
makes. Also I need one more guest OS so I can expand my 16GB VHD's to 32GB
VHD's once the real hard drives show up.

Just for compairison. It took me over 1 day to install two guest systems
without using the shunt dirve. With using it I had a third system up in
maybe 2 hours. HUGE differance.

Don't attach the floppy image before boot, but do it after you press F6 to
