2 NIC on Host Machine

I have two NIC in the host EE 2005 VS. One is Intel, other is 3Com.
The Intel card was already established and working fin.
I created a new virtual network for the 3Com card, and assigned it as the
network adapter for the network. When I'm logged into the Guest OS it only
displays Intel, and Intel #2. When I look at the device manager, it doesn't
see the 3Com card.
Is there something I'm missing?

I want to do ICS on the Intel Card, and then use the 3Com card as a direct
connection to my cable router.

If a NIC was virtualized instead of emulated, then its possible you'd
see an Intel and a 3COM in your case. However, the only hardware
virtualized by Virtual Server is the CPU, the rest of the VM is
emulated.

Got it, thanks! If they were both 3Com cards I guess that would have been
easy to derive. I didn't realize that was the emulated NIC regardless of the
hardware.

It isn't at all clear what you are trying to achieve here. Where do you
want to do ICS? In the host or in the guest? You do not need two NICs in the
server for either option.

If you want to do ICS in the guest, you set one NIC of the guest to link
to the physical NIC in the host (the one which connects to the router). This
is your public NIC as far as ICS is concerned. It will get its IP config
from the router.

Connect the other NIC of the virtual machine to a virtual network or the
loopback network. This is the private side of ICS. Other machines in this
network will get their network config from ICS.

If you want to do ICS in the host, use the loopback interface for your
private interface and the NIC connected to the router as the public
interface. Then set the guest's NIC to the loopback adapter option (so that
it is on the private side of ICS). It will get its network config from ICS.
