Best Practice ?

Hi Every1 !

I'm testing Virtual server, and i've noticed that, from a client connected
to the same local network, access to files is slower compared to access on a
Windows machine installed directly to the hardware.

(and i think it's pretty obvious).

Now, my question is:

let's assume that i install a virtual Windows Server 2003 on a host machine.

Then, i share the folders placed on a disk which is part of the host
machine.

Then, i can see the folders from the Windows Server 2003 just by clicking on
the mapped letter.

Now, my question is:

Is that possible to make the client viewing those shared folders by passing
"Thru" the vitual Windows server 2003... ?

What i mean is that, from the client, i should be able to see this:

\\VirtualServer\SharedFolder

where SharedFolder is NOT a folder on a virtual disk of the VirtualServer,
but it's a folder placed on a physical hard disk (i.e. D: ) connected to the
physical host machine (so, if i want, i can directly backup files from the
host operating system).

Is that possible, to have a configuration like this...?

And, if possible, is the file access from the client quicker...?

Thank You !
