Replicating VS instance to standby server?

I would like to replicate our Virtual Server Guests instance to another
server so when something happens to the current Virtual Server Host, we can
justpower up the replicated Guests on the secondary server.

(1) Can I just backup the running guests" files (vdk) using "normal" backup
software?

(2) Anyone using EMC Replistor - can this do this?

(3) What are some of you using to do this or suggest?
