VS R2 - Redhat Linux

Source: microsoft.public.virtualserver

Message:

I'm running VS R2 on a Win 64 bit OS (XP), running as guest os include 32 bit
, win 2003, vista, and I installed Linux, everything went fine with all guest
installations, except when I installed the Linux as guest, the video card on
the "guest" is confused and any graphical display is all "messed up".
When I called Linux support, they said to ask Microsoft what "generic" video
card the Host will ask the guest to support and then we can set that in the
guest OS. I don't see any such setup in any of the guest setup. Does does
the guest automatically see what the video card on the host is and emulate
that? If yes, should I try to get a 32 bit linux copy of video driver that
was installed on the host and install that on Linux guest?

Also I see on the the Window guest (Vista for example) if you set the guest
resolution to 1280 by 1024 it will automaticly set the color to 15 from 32,
why is that?

Thanks for any sugguestion
