I would like to do an install of Virtual Server 2005 on my laptop so I can
load Windows Server 2003/SQL Enterprise to study/learn SQL Adminsitration.
My questions are

1) After I load up Virtual Server, how do I choose which operating system I
want running on my laptop (Windows XP regular laptop mode or Virtual Server
mode). 2) Is there some type of instructions of how to use Virtual Server?
3) Can Virtual Server be easily un-installed after I am done with it?

I have some fear that I will screw up my laptop by installing this - and
since my laptop is my bread & butter, I want to do it right & understand what
I will get after install.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Menu>Microsoft Virtual Server>Virtual Server Administration Website on your
desktop and install the guest operating system from there. When you want to
run the guest you simply click on the thumbnail for the guest operating

I did the IIS install first & then ran theh set-up/install for Virtual Server.

I was given the address (http://FQDN:1024/VirtualServer/VSWebApp.exe) to
access Virtual Server - where it prompts me for a user Name & password.

What Username/Password is it looking for? I have tried all combinations I
can think of - to no avail.

Should I create a new User with Admin privileges?

Is this the proper way to access Virtual Server. I am trying to get to
Virtual Server so I can Install Windows Server 2003 on it.

You could installSQL Server developer edition on you laptop without the
virtual server. It is functionally equivalent to SQL Server Enterprise -
just has licensing restrictions that it only can be used for development.
