VM"s lose network connectivity to everything except the host machine

Hi

I have a problem with Virtual Server 2005 which seems to have started after
the
motherboard was replaced in the host server by Dell. Although we have no
other issues with the server and do not think the new motherboard is faulty.

The virtual machines (all XP SP2 Pro) come up normally and are available
remotely via Remote Desktop, however are a period of use the virtual
machines become uncontactable via the network remotely.

This is where things get wierd, although remotely the VM is un-contactable
from a remote machine the machine can be connectred to from the host
machine. If we wait a while (10
mins or so) the remote connectivity will come back.

Things I've done:

1. I removed the VM machine NIC and rebooted so it was re-detected.

2. I noted that the VM machines at the point of disconnecting we raising an
Eventlog error (below) so after some reading I have disabled QoS in the
network settings, this did not resolve the issue but did get rid of the
message.:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: PSched
Event Category: None
Event ID: 14103
Date: 28/12/2005
Time: 10:23:55
User: N/A
Computer: PEARTREE201
Description:

The netcard driver failed the query for OID_GEN_LINK_SPEED.

3. Finally I have removed and re-installed the VM additions to see if these
tweaked any Network settings on installation.

Still no luck, any ideas would be appreciated.

Regards

Gary
