a virtual server is losing connectivity

We just built a virutal server host (static ip) with 2 virutual servers (each
using DHCP). The virtual server host has one Intel PRO/1000 XT network
adapter. Every so often one of the virtual servers loses all network
connectivity. The connectivity will temporarily return if I reboot the
virtual server or if a disable then enable the virtual network adapter (from
the Windows 2000 virtual server).

I have had this happen before on VMWare's ESX server and the solution was to
change the virtual network adapter. Since MSVS only seems to use the Intel
21140-based FastEthernet (generic) adapter, I don't know of another choice.
Anything here sound familiar? Any known fix? Is there a way to emulate a
different virtual network adapter?

The Virtual Server's DHCP server capability is disabled. The virtual server
is just picking up it's DHCP info from our company's internet DHCP server.

Thanks!
