Hey everyone,

I am planning the use of server virtualization over 2 datacenters - US /
Europe. Although I've been going through all ressources on the site I could
not find the answer to this question, so maybe you could help me.

Let's say I have 2 servers, 1 located in a datacenter in the US and the
other one in Europe. Both with different IP's and subnets, but running
Hyper-V R2 and several virtual machines. Would I be able to move one virtual
machine from the US based node to my European one? Is the management console
able to "combine" geographically divided servers?

If so: what else would I need besides the 2 servers and Hyper-V?

Any help is appreciated,

Yes, you can certainly do this. This missing piece of the puzzle is
the replication engine that integrates with Windows Server Failover
Clustering to enable multi-site clusters. SteelEye DataKeeper Cluster
Edition is the only host based replication solution Certified for
Windows Server 2008 which does this today. Your other options are
array based replication solutions such as EMC SRDF/CE among others
(check with your storage vendor).
