VHDMOUNT error - Failed to plug the Virtual Hard Disk (VHD)

Source: microsoft.public.virtualserver
Sent: 07/24/2009
From: FB
Message:

I´m tryingo to use "/m" option

I´m trying to mount an XPSP2.VHD image and the error is:

Failed to plug the Virtual Hard Disk (VHD). Virtual Disk Service (VDS) is
not available. This option uses VDS to mount the volumes on the VHD. Use /p to
plug in the VHD and then use Disk Manager to mount the volumes.

After the use of the Environment Variable SET VHD_MOUNT_TRACE=1, the
additional error messages are:

[Info] Default user locale is 0x416
[Warning] Dictionary VhdMountStrings.dll doesn't exist.
[Error] VHDMount failed with return code = 20

The VS2005SP1 + patches are installed (FULL) in a XPSP3 Machine (Host)

If i try to use "/p" insted "/m" the XPSP2.VHD disk appears on Disk
managent, but without letter assigned and the only available option is "New
Partition/Volume"

I tried to install new hardware based on .INFs located on VS folders to try
to "force" the Host system to "understand" Virtual Controllers, Virtual
Disks, but it doesn~t worked.

Some suggestion?
