Hi

I am trying to sysprep Virtual server VM. So that i can have some template
and by copying this template i can create new Virtual machnes quicker.

the problem is the sysreped machines running on first boot but after that
just blank screen and nothing happens, no cusor too.

Any help ?

network. I set up machine the way I want it.

While I use NewSid as well, you should be aware that using it will put
your virtual machines into an unsupported state as far as Microsoft is
concerned.

I am having the same problem testing the SMS 2003 OS Deployment Pack images.
After the OSD install portion, the machine reboots and freezes on a black
screen. I also found that if you try to boot into safe mode an XP guest will
halt on AGP440.sys. To make matters worse, once I try to boot a virtual guest
into safe mode, it will freeze when trying to select "Start Windows
Normally". I've hosed 3/4 of my XP virtual guests this way just testing the
same process on machines that were built in various ways. Has anyone else
seen this?

I've run into this same problem about 50% of the time. Finally just started
using NewSID...as some others have indicated. Another scenario would be to
just copy the .vmc and .vhd to the new location and make some minor
modifications to the .vmc. Add the VM into the Admin Console and boot the
VM. Once the VM has booted, login and change the name...reboot the VM.
Once the VM boots, login and add the VM to the domain. Adding a machine to
a domain will ensure that you have unique SIDs.

Of course this is a little spotty...as the network isn't enabled until the
VM has a unique name.

I actually created an image on a physical machine then ran sysprep on it.
Once it was done I utilized VSMT to migrate the syspreded image to a virtual
machine. And I then copy that image to the respective folders of whatever
virtual machine prior to creating it. This works very well and has also
worked with images I've created on ESX.
