VM IP Address

Source: microsoft.public.virtualserver

From: "Tom Mason" <(email address - cut out)>
Message:

Maybe one of you guys can help me figure this out:

I have a VM that needs to have a fixed address and this VM exists on a host
server that has 2 Ethernet ports. 1 port is for the host server and the
other port is for the VMs. The host server has a fixed IP address and the VM
port has a DHCP address. I have given the VM a fixed IP address for the
Microsoft Virtual Machine Bus Adaptor. IPConfig shows the right fixed IP
address. From the host server I can ping this VM fixed IP address. However,
from any other computer on the network, either real or virtual, this address
cannot be found.

So, my question is: is it possible for the VM to pass it's fixed IP address
out through the Ethernet port with the DHCP address? If so, how?

TOM
