VS 2005 R2 on 64-bit Question

Hi,

Right now we are running VS 2005 R2 on a 64-bit box but with Windows 2003 in
32-bit mode. Each of our images is limited to 3.6 gb of RAM (some are
running Windows Enterprise, some Windows Standard).

If we reinstall the host OS to be Windows 2003 in 64-bit mode, will that
allow us to allocate more memory to each virtual image?

We have thought about Server 2008 and Hyper-V but occassionally the images we
create need to be taken to a client (rather than just used in our office or
hit via VPN) and we need to be able to run them on a laptop and external
hard-drive. We can move freely from VS to VPC today and only have to be
aware of reduced memory when running under VPC.

I know you can move an image from VS to Hyper-V, but can you move it back
again?
