Hi

I have installed 64bit Win2k8 Enterprise Edition (virtualised using VMWARE
server 2.0 - running off vista 64bit). When i try to add the hyper-v role,
it prompts me to enable DEP or make sure that CPU is a 64bit processor.

I want to install to review and test HYPER-V before going ahead and install
on a phyical system.

Can anyone give me some pointers on how to install Hyper-v in a virtualised
guest system.

As Paul says, you simply can't do what you are trying to do. Hyper-V uses
the built in hardware virtualization capabilities of the latest Intel and
AMD processors, and that requires that it have physical control of the
processors. And it can't have that running from a virtualized Windows Server
guest.

You can run the Hyper V role in a Virtualized OS. Just make sure you turn on the correct setting in the motherboard!
