VM Guest Performance Ridiculously Slow...

Source: microsoft.public.virtualserver
Sent: 04/22/2008
From: Ray Frangie
Message:

Hi All,

I'm running VS2005 R2 SP1 with 2 Guest Machines and the Guest's performance
is ridiculously slow...

The following are the details:

Host:

Windows Server 2008 Enterprise
2 x Intel Xeon 3.2Ghz CPU's
8Gb RAM
2 x 147's 10K RPM RAID 1, and 2 x 36's 10K RPM RAID 1

Guests (x2):
Windows Server 2008 Standard
Assigned CPU: 1-processor 3.33Ghz Xeon MP
Assigned RAM: 1.5Gb
Assigned HDD: 1 x 25GB IDE Fixed Disk

System Properties on the Guest show the following for the CPU:

CPU: Intel Xeon CPU 3.2Ghz @ 22Mhz

22Mhz?????

I can tell you the performance is of around that speed

Has anyone seen this issue before? Can anyone shed any light on how to fix
this?

Your help in advance is appreciated

Cheers,
Ray.
