Can"t connect to the virtual machine...

Source: microsoft.public.virtualserver

Message:

....continued from a thread a couple of weeks ago.
I have Virtual Server 2005 R2 installed on a Windows XP Pro machine
(fully patched). I've installed a Virtual Machine into the server
(originally created on Virtual PC 2007). Everything works great, except
that I can't connect to it via Remote Control. I can connect to the
Virtual Machine fine via VNC, but not remote control.

Whenever I try to connect via Remote Control, I am confronted with a
credentials dialog. I've tried typing in the admin account for the host
machine, for the guest machine and everything in between, but it never
connects. Regardless of what credentials I type in, under "Recent
Events": the following entry appears: *The user
"FILESERVER\Administrator" at Internet address 192.168.1.101 failed to
authenticate a new connection to the VMRC server.*

There is no domain - the host machine is just a standalone machine on a
home network (connected to a workgroup).
If I go to Virtual Server/Server Properties/Virtual Marchine Remote
Control (VRMC) Server Properties, I see the following:

VRMC Server: Enabled
TCP/IP address: all unassigned
tcp/ip port: 6000
Default screen resolution 1024x768
Authentication: NTLM (I've tried automatic as well, did do the trick)

One thing I don't understand is where port 6000 comes into play. When I
click on Remote Control it goes to the following URL:
http://fileserver/VirtualServer/VSWebApp.exe?view=3&vm=MySampleMachine.

I've tried going directly to the VRMC:
vmrc://fileserver:6000/MySampleMachine, but I still get the
authentication dialog and can go no further.

What am I doing wrong?
Thanks.
