I am trying to install Solaris 10 (build 08/07) using MS Virtual Server 2005
R2 SP1, but it keeps hanging at the Copyright screen. According the the
release notes, Solaris 10 is supposed to be supported. Has anybody had any
luck getting Solaris 10 installed in Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1???

These are notes for VPC 2004. Reports on VPC 2007 have not been collected
and published.

Another issue preventing installation of some versions of Solaris is
detection of the SB16 card twice. The resolution there is to delete one of
the cards.

I think that someone with a VT enabled PC actually managed to get it
running all the way, you may want to search for that as well.

Another possibility if you are not especially wanting to have it run
on VPC/VS is to download (from SUN) the "virtual appliance" containing
the Solaris workstation and then use it with VMWare Player (free
download from VMWare). I did that and it worked right away. :-)

It looks like we will be using the free VMware Server to host our Solaris
VMs. We were just hoping to standardize everything onto MS Virtual Server.
I still don't understand how Microsoft can list Solaris 10 and a "supported"
guest operaing system in MS Virtual Server 200 R2 SP!, but then NOT support
it. I even went so far as to call MS IT Pro Support and use one of our
pre-paid support calls, but they told me that there was NOBODY at Microsoft
that could help me. Now how is that for a "supported" configuration???
