Create a new virtual machine off an image

I am running virtual server 2005 r2 64 bit. I am trying to create a virtual
machine off an image. When I "Turn On" the virtual machine, it boots from my
Acronis True Image Server CD. I tried to do the "Recovery" to install the
image, but I can't browse the network for the image file or an external
device. How do I browse the network when I am in booting up from Acronis?
Or how do I see a USB drive? Thanks.

If the image size is small enough and you have a DVD burner, burning
it to a DVD will allow you to use it in a VM.

Otherwise, just create new VHD big enough to hold the image, then
attach it to a working VM, copy the image to it, shut down that
working VM, then unattach the VHD holding the image, attach it to the
VM you're creating as a second disk, start the VM, then it'll be on
one of the drives available to True Image. You should be using the
Universal Restore option for True image...

For creating, just go into the Virtual Server web site, then under the
"Virtual Disks" heading on the left, select "Create"-> "Dynamically
expanding virtual hard disk".

To attach it to a VM, go into the VM's configuration, "Hard disks"
link, then "Add disk" and the disk you created above should be one of
the choices in the "Known virtual hard disks" pull down menu.
