Solaris 10....are you kidding me

Message:

Ok, I am trying to convince the old timers that work exclusively with Unix,
VMS, HP-UX, Linux, and Solaris to emprace the virtual world that we have
gotten to work so well with the Windows world. So far RHEL has worked out
well, but today with great promise we tried Solaris 10. All I got to say is
what the H...? From what I am reading I am not alone either. How and what
form can microsoft support running this on Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1? I
have been in the middle of an install for the last 4 hours with many pauses
for hours at a time. Currently is it looking to configure the ethernet card
and has been there for about 1 hour. Unless I am missing something, the pop
the ISO in and select the base install for Solaris is not the realistic way
to install this. Has anyone had any experience with a Solaris install on
Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1 or know where there might be some "real"
documentation on how this is done? I hope there is.

Thanks for you help (Ben are you there?)

Rob McShinsky
