screenshot inside guest image - how possible?

hi,

i would like to generate some screenshots inside my guest image in order to
copy them into wordpad, saving there as .rtf.

however, neither alt-print, nor strg-print is working for me.

what is the problem? how to do?

please note: my host key is setup on right-strg, but is also failing with
alt-gr or any other key.

copy to the clipboard. It also has timed-based screenshotting for
capturing live menu choices, etc.

FWIW, alt-printscreen works for me in a VM. Use the left alt, as you've
seen right alt is the host key.

If you take a typical program window screenshot and save as BMP, PNG
and JPG respectively you will see the differences:
BMP about 1.4 Mbytes or more, but if placed in zip shrinks to 2% or so
PNG directly gives about 15 kbytes
JPG gives you something like 250-400 kbytes, which cannot be
compressed further.

And what is even worse with JPG is that it actually *destroys* the
screenshot by interpolating pixels around sharp edges to smooth them
out. Try for example to enlarge a piece of button text in a JPG image
and you will find garbled fuzzy imagery where letters are printed with
black against the light background. Typically you cannot read fine
print that was clear on the screenshot. Do the same with BMP and PNG
and they are crystal clear!

Both BMP and PNG do not alter the screenshot image at all, they are
lossless encodings. The difference is that PNG applies algorithms to
compress areas of the same pixel value to very small data size.
