I just installed Windows 2003 on Virtual Server 2005 on a Vista laptop. I
can not get 2K3 to use the network adapter of the laptop to get out on the
internet. How do I setup the server to use the internal nic card to get out
to the internet.

Also, I noticed that if I'm not on my corporate network, I can not connect
to the Virtual image via Remote Control Client or the Admin Website, I can
launch the virtual session but not connect to it, any ideas?

I suspect that you don't have a DHCP server running on your network
and therefore the W2003 guest does not get a valid IP address, so it
uses the autoconfig address that does not lead anywhere.

If your laptop is a PC that is connected to the domain at your work
then your admin priviliges most likely are checked against the domain
controler, which works when you are there, but not when you are
disconnected from the corporate network.

Try creating a local administrator account on your laptop and then use
that when you operate VS2005.

It might also be a security issue from Internet Explorer 7. Try using
VMRCPlus instead of the website for administration.

The vm is connected (via Admin web page) to the physical NIC on my laptop.
When I log into the vm, the icon in the system tray has a triangular yellow
exclamation point.

I can't find the loopback adapter in Vista, where can I find that or how do
I create a virtual network to get the vm to get out on the internet.
