Enterprise Desktop Virtualization

This is fairly old concept and is now applied to desktop PCs as well.
Think of using the software on a server over a network from anywhere
in the world with the help of a PC, PDA, mobile or any computing
device. This is exactly what Enterprise Desktop virtualization is all
about, accessing your desktop PC through a good network connection and
a communications device.

Enterprise desktop virtualization is nothing using the physical
peripherals and software of your PC from a remote location, which can
be any where on the globe. Basically you are routing your input
devices such as the keyboard and mouse through the internet to your
communication device, which could be a PDA or small palmtop. Your PC
might be located at your residence, office or anywhere. The monitor
and input devices are routed through the network by a software package
known as a 'desktop remoting protocol'. The enterprise desktop
virtualization session is known as a 'desktop access session'.
