Hello,
i have 2 server (HP DL380-windows 2003 ent sp2), and virtual server 2005 R2
SP1 installed on the 2.
On the first i have 1 VM wich work perfectly with virtual network link on
the physical teaming 1 of the host
i have stop the VM on the host, and copy the folder of the VM (VHD and VMC)
on the 2nd server.
Then i "add" new virtual server on the 2nd host with the copy of .VMC and
..VHD --> works great also
my problem is when i start the VM on the 2nd host, the network is here with
the same properties and IP than on the 1st host, but i can't ping the IP of
the VM !(it work on the VM on the 1st host)

On the 2 servers, i have a 2 network card in teaming mode (HP network Team
#1), and the name is the same on the 2 host..

I tryed this action with VMWare GSX and i had no problem like this...if
someone has an idea ?

Finally i find...

- i remove all virtual network adapter in virtual server console
- i delete all .vnc in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Shared
Virtual Networks (otherwise it keep settings and don't work)
- i re-create new virtual network adapters
- launch VM on the 2 different guest (not simultanously !) and each time i
can ping

You should not use the same VMC file! If you copy both the VHD and VMC
files then you have effectively two identical machines on your network
(same MAC address and same PC name). THis will make the communication
not work.

Instead only copy the VHD file. THen create new irtual machine on the
target host and attach this new machine to te copied VHD file. THis
will ensure a unique MAC address so networking will start working. But
when the guest has started you must also change its hostname to
something unique, otherwise Windows will have problems with two PC by
the same name on the network.
