Hi,

I have a virtual server R2 SP1 running on a Windows Vista enterprise host.

The guest OS is XP Pro SP2. the Os works fine.

I have setup the VM to share the hosts dvd burner. the drive shows up in the
guest OS, but media loaded in the host does nto show up in the guest OS.

The VM has been correctly configured to share the hosts CD Drive. if an ISO
image is selected then the drive maps correctly.

have? Do you have any DVD / CD burning software installed?

I have a "TSST corp DVD + - RW TS-L532B ATA Device" It came with my Dell
Laptop. I do not have any CD / DVD Burning software installed on the Host or
the guest.

I will update the post after I try with VPC tomorrow.

I too am running into a similiar situation. I have Vista Business running as
the host machine and VS R2 SP1 and Windows 2000 server as a guest OS. When a
DVD is loaded into the DVD burner, the Vista machine reads it just fine.
When I go into the 2000 guest machine, the drive letter (d) is displayed.
Yet, when I select the drive, it just tells me to put insert a disk into
drive d:.

NOTE: The exact same hardware last week was running XP SP2 as the host and
the same 2000 VHD. The PC host OS was installed brand new as Vista Business.
Now the 2000 VHD guest will not recognize the DVD burner.
