Accessing Virtual Machine via Remote Desktop or Terminal Server

Source: microsoft.public.virtualserver

Message:

Several places have mentioned accessing VM via RDP or TS (sample below). How
do you do this? The IP address of the virtual server is 10.200.70.15 (not in
a domain). The VM IP address is not fixed (using the physical NIC on the
Virtual Server). I have Remote Desktop enabled on the VM. I can ping
10.200.70.15 successfully and the VS machine name, but not the VM name. VMRC
is not an option b/c I need several people to have exclusive access at the
same time.

Thanks!

You could also use the Microsoft Remote Desktop Client and connect to the
VM's console via "mstsc.exe /console". You'd have to enable Remote Desktop
for Administration or Terminal Server to connect this way, but it works a lot
better than the VMRC.
