VS2005 R2 Admin Website very slow on Windows XP

I'm running VS2005R2 on my XPSP2 laptop - - a Dell D620 with a 2Ghz Core Duo
CPU and 2GB RAM. The admin website is very slow to display - about 25-30
seconds each refresh, but access to Internet websites is at "normal" speed.
I'm running the same setup on my desktop which is a 3Ghz Core Duo CPU with
3GB RAM - better than the laptop but not a huge difference - and the admin
website displays much faster.

Any ideas on what might cause this?
