Hello *.*.

i am triening to build a Failover Cluster witd Longhorn 6001 on Virtual
Server 2005 R2. But during the Cluster configuration i am getting the
failure "Disk bus type does not support clustering". The SCSI controller is
configured as "shared bus", so i am wondering if anyone has manged to build
a cluster with Longhorn, or if this maybe isnt supportet by Virtual Server
2005 R2.

The Longhorn Cluster didnt support SCSI any longer, so i cant work with
virtual Server, in the way i tried it.

If you use iSCSI, then you can build up a LH Cluster with max. 8 Nodes.

my problem is to find a ISCSI Target.
It seemes all the free ISCSI Targes like Starwind are not supportet by
Longhorn Cluster.

1) StarWind is *NOT* free iSCSI target (my VARs always flame me with URLs llike this telling StarWind is free). At least not for the clustering guys. If you'd managed to pay few grands for the proper server hardware and another extra for the server OS from Microsoft - asking for a free iSCSI target sounds really cheap. It's like buying Lamborghini Gallardo and telling your old school chap (who still drives his grandma's '56 Chevy) "Gas prices are SOOO DAMN HIGH".

If you're really on budget or only want to do pure experiments (no production environment install) we may offer free NFR license(s) on dedicated request.

Say "thanks" to the huge guys who paid for this free lunch :)

2) StarWind *DOES* support Longhorn clustering starting with the version 3.5. Drop us a message to the (email address - cut out) and we'd issue you with a RC we'll publish Gold this or next week.
