CPU Allocation Problems

Seems i am having issues configuring CPU allocation. Host is a dual quad
core, 16G Ram, running 4 VM's. Running VS 2005 R2 SP1 Beta 2.

When ever i try to change the reletive weight of the first (of four total)
VM's on the Resource Allocation page, it will change the first, second and
third VM weight to the value i entered into the reletive weight first vm.
The fourth VM value remains unchanged at its value.

When i try to change the middle second or third listed vms on the page, it
does not even take the changes and reverts back to the values that were there
before i clicked the ok button.

Doesnt seem to matter if i change the sorting options or not.

Whenever i change the last listed, fourth vm, it works as it should and
changes only this vm.

One of my VM's is a SQL server so i need this one to have more power. But i
am finding it impossible to change this vm's reletive weight.

In the resource allocation does it say that you only get 12.5% of the
Maximum System capacity for each host?

I have a Dell Blade, see info in post before this one, and I only et 12.5%
for each VM.

I am brand new to virtualization, i finally have my VM's all setup properly:
VM1: IIS, SMTP, External DNS
VM2: ISA 2006
VM3: Domain Controller, Internal DNS
VM4: SQL 2005

After installing SQL Server 2005, i started getting very worried about
preformance. because it is taking a very long time just to open sql 2005
management studio. The other VM's seem a little sluggish, but not enough to
raise an alert at first.

Now i am wondering if i can even put this server into production or if i
should be looking at VMWARE ESX at this current time until MS releases its
next server os.

Any thoughts are very much appreceated. Thank you

MS VM Server can use one processor available to the host OS only.
Dual core CPUs are seen as two processors, so your qual dual-core box is
effectively 8 processors. Each VM can therefore use 1/8 or 12.5% of your
total processing power.
