Hello All,

Can pci style 56k modems be enabled in virtual machines? Or is it restricted
to external serial modems.... I have no serial ports on my current machine,
so a pci style would help a lot.

It really depends on the modem you use and how it works. If the modem card
shows up as a COM port (such as COM port 3) on the host, you can map that to
COM port 1 in the guest machine and dial out from the guest.

However, in some cases you will have configure the modem manually in the
guest , because PnP in the guest recognises the modem as one that needs
a PCI driver, yet all that the guest can see is a thing on a COM port.
