I have virtual server with few server some running some in saved state.
sometimes the network connectivity to the guests lost and there is nothing
to be done other than save all machines state, restart the service or if it
doesn't restart - restart the host machine.

when this happens there is event in the event log, the the event log system
fails to bring the event data to.

can someone tell how to get event information successfully? or better 0 how
to resolve this once in few days annoying problem..
there is nothing running on the virtual server host machine other that
windows 2003 service pack 1

the event log is from the virtual server host server itself - not from
network - so there is no reason for event log resources problem

Yes I'm getting the same errors after installing VMware server with virtual
pc and virtual server. I'm using virtual pc as a development enviroment for
directshow do to the stability issue with debugging directshow filters. I've
found that since vmware server installs serveral Nic cards using randomly
generated MAC address's that sometimes they conflict especially if you use
NAT in VMware. This is because in order for your real NIC on the physical
machine to accept frames and packets from several sources it must run in
promiscuous mode. Also when using vmware NAT the device is being forced into
promiscuous and then passing it onto a NAT virtual device to distribute the
frames/packets. This for obvious reasons causes problems with 2
device/device drivers fighting for the same reference. I tried running
disabling the virtual nics that vmware installs and has worked for the past 2
days. If that doesn't help I'm going to uninstall vmware and use in on
another machine as the dedicated virtual server or just use virtual server.
I really wish there was an API that would reference handles to use drag and
drop file transfer in virtual server's VMRC the same way it works in virtual
pc.
