VNC and RDP to XP VM

I have a XP VM that a user is connecting to via RDP using a thin client.
When I try to VNC to this VM to help the user, their RDP session is
disconnected. I believe this is unique to Virtual Server because I can
connect to my desktop PC at work using RDP and then VNC to that session.

Why does this happen and how can I fix it? I need to be able to share
desktop control with users, preferably over VNC for consistency.

That would be ideal if it worked. Give it a try sometime. Power on a XP VM
and RDP to it. Then check VMRC - you will see a locked desktop.

I know, thats what is driving me crazy about this. I thought it might have
something to do with VMRC so I tried running VMRC on a different port, and
then disabling VMRC altogether. Same results.

The VM is joined to a domain and does not use the welcome screen or FUS. I
connect to the VM over RDP and then when I establish a VNC connection my RDP
session disconnects with the "another user connected to the session" message.
I have tried different flavors of VNC (Tight,Real,Ultra,etc) with the same
results. It makes no sense to me why this works on physical PC's but not the
VM's

When someone RDP's into that system, the screen gets locked, the
behavior is the same as on a real or virtual system. You can't use
the console on the system and RDP into the console at the same time.

VMRC is setup to be the VM's CRT, that's why you can see it post, etc.

Have you installed a new VNC server in the VM? That might work.

SMS remote control would be even better, but we don't have SMS here.
Interstingly enough this same problem occurs in VMWare VM's. I still can't
explain why this is different between physical machines and virtual machines,
but it is.
