I've been expirmenting with Virtual PC an just recently with Virtual Server
2005 R2, since I read that it supported add ons for Linux. I installed
Virtual Server and the Linux add ons, then added my Suse 10.1 setup. The
result was such poor performance for the mouse and keyboard that I had a hard
time shutting down Suse. I have good smooth performance under Virtual PC
2004. So I'm assuming that I don't have something right but I can't find
anything in the discussion groups that indicates what that might be.

I have a box with a 2.4G processor and 1.5G of memory with 512M allocated to
Suse.

Any suggestions?

downloaded, it unpacks an ISO image on the Windows host, but you need to
mount this image and follow the instructions in the readme.

to me that response without tha add ons under virtual server would be at
least similar to that under virtual pc?

It would be, if you were using a VNC client to connect to Virtual PC. That's
essentially what Virtual Server's VRMC client is. When you use the Linux
console in Virtual PC, the video frame buffer of the guest is almost
directly mapped into the host's physical display hardware (oversimplifying
here, but the point is that there's a lot less overhead than VNC).
