The S3 in VS will easily support that resolution. The hitch with
Linux OSes is that almost all of them only have a driver that
recognizes 2MB of VRAM. The old work-around was to use the generic
VESA drivers with 8MB of VRAM. The Additions Linux video driver may
already correct this, I haven't looked that closely.
