Network cable unplugged

Source: microsoft.public.virtualserver

Message:

I have a strange problem.
I have installed Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 within Virtual
Server R2.
No matter which network card I configure (3Com or VIA) the icon next to the
clock tells the network cable is unplugged.
I have installed Windows Server 2003 R2; no problems.

The driver for the DEC 2114 virtual network card is in both version of
Windows Server 2003 the same.
I have set the NIC speed to 100Mbps/Full Duplex, but that does not help.

Background info: Dutch Small Business Server 2003, English Virtual Server
R2, dutch version of Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1, Dutch version
of Windows Server 2003 R2. Virtual Server Additions are installed.

Has anybody experienced this same problem and knows how to fix this?
The problem is that I have one license for Windows Server 2003 R2 and one
for Windows Server 2003. I would like the run both simultaneously.

Thanx.
