I am having na issue where my vS 2005 R2 guest machine seems to be eithewr
rebooting or shutting down for no reason. No events are logged. Last event
listed by VS logger:

The setting "hardware/bios/time_bytes" for the virtual machine configuration
"<server>" was changed.

Next thing you see is "<server> was reset" followed by "<server> could not
be started because a disk-related error occurred."

Nothing in the system or app event logs for either guest or host machine.

I reveiwed the MS article 884869 mentioning L4 cache issues, but I am
running Intel Xeon processors (2 of them) that I am sure only have L2 cache.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

yeah, I figured it out. I was backing up the hard drive file. I've since
shut the server down, created a backup of the vs files and backing those up
instead.
