I have a host Win-XP and a Virtual-Server with Windows Small-Business-Server
2003 machine.
I need to connect to internet (and to the physical network) from within the
Virtual-Server SBS Machine.
Configuring the Networkadapter lets me to chose between these:
- Not connected
- External Network (Broadcom Netextreem 57xx ..)
- Internal Network

The Host Win-XP has two network adaptors, one is the Broadcom NetXtreme and
the other is the Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG. I am using the Wirless to
connect to Network.

My question is how can I connect the Win-SBS (within the VS) to Internet?
I did try many thing,, tried different settings and I have no Firewall,
disabled all filtering etc.
Any help, suggestion is highly appreciated, I could not find any simple
instruction on how to connect Virtual-Server to Internet, not on this
news-group nor in the help-files and Technet.

To be able to select the wireless NIC, you will need to check on the host in
the NIC's properteies to see if it has the Virtual Machine Network service
enabled.

There are many problems known with wireless NICs and virtual machines...but
maybe you're just lucky and it works like a charm. Worth a shot.

yes this was the problem, it works now, I can connect to internet.
But my connection to the physical machine (host) is intermmittent, I have
some times connections and few minutes later no connection.
There are not many PC in the network, and I guess there is no MAC conflict.
There must be something different.
Both machines (VM and Physical) are on the same sub-net and use the router
address as GWY.
Any help is appreciated,

XP and Virtual Server

the default of installing Virtual server, or do I need to configure. I tried

You could also setup a loopback adapter on the host machine and attach the
VM to the loopback adapter when you configure it. You'll need to then setup
the loopback adapter with an IP address that isn't used on your real LAN.
This would enable your host to share folders with the Guest and vise versa.

Yes, the default setting will put the guest in the same network as the
host.

You need to be a bit careful if your host is a domain member. You need
to keep your virtual machines hidden from the domain, and it is hard to do
that if you want to access the virtual machine from the host.

I would put the server in a virtual network with no connection to the
host OS at all. If you want a client for the virtual server, install a
client OS in a vm on the same network.

If you need access to the physical LAN and/or the Internet from your
virtual network, the safest method is to run a NAT router in another vm. The
machines on the virtual network can access the physical LAN through NAT, but
your virtual network is hidden from the LAN machines because they are on the
public side of the NAT router.

You can then run the vms as a private LAN. You can even run your own DNS
and DHCP server, or Active Directory.

You could, but it is not much good really unless all you want is host to
guest networking. If the host is XP, your only option for connection sharing
is ICS, and a server OS in the vm does not work well with ICS.
