Not Able To Connect To Admin Site

Hi,

I have installed Virtual Server 2005 std and Enterprise to see if it was an
issue with not having the enterprise version on a Dell 1855 blade server. The
OS is Windows 2003 32 Bit with SP1.

It installs fine but when I try to use the web site to create virtual
machines the system hangs eventually. Even if it gets to the point where the
guest box starts its BIOS startup as soon as I click it hangs the whole
system.

I have even re-installed but not installed the admin tools on the server but
on my laptop but it still is slow and hanging.

I appreciate the details are a little week bit does this sound familiar to
anybody.

I've been having similar problems lately, where my admin site will stop
responding and I can't get to it. I'm running on XP. I haven't had a chance
to really look at it, but the only way I've found to fix it is to reinstall
VS. I notice that when it happens my default Web Site is stopped, but
restarting it, cycling IIS and VS doesn't help. I'm wondering if one of the
recent Microsoft patches that is screwing everything else up is doing the
same to VS. I may end up moving to VMWare. I don't have time today to
reinstall VS for the third time in the past 10 days.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one. I'm in the middle of a test scenario right
now where I can't switch to VMWare, but once I'm through that, I'm making the
switch to VMWare Workstation and Server.

Where's the Run in Isolation? It ran before without all these settings,
nobody could have changed those.

I am having similar trouble with my first x64 host. The web site works fine
until I try to start a VM. Then, the host falls off the LAN. Not much in
the logs, although one entry points to a DCOM issue. The only remedy is to
restart the Virtual Server service on the host, but I still can't start any
guests.

I've not had this problem with two other x86 hosts. What could be the
problem?
