of memory and the rest for kernel... but exchange server you have to use a
/3GB switch to use over 2GB for apps... does anything like this need to be
changed on a virtual server box (the host OS) to fully use the total 9GB of
memory?

You should use the /PAE switch in the boot.ini for the host virtual server
box to be able to access the memory. Don't use the /3GB switch on the host
box.

That is just for 32 bit 2003. We just deployed a 64 bit 2003 Virtual server
and we didn't need to use any switches.
