I know if you go to resource allocation you can reserve CPU for each
individual VM. Does anybody know of a way to reserve CPU for the host
machine?

Hi Rick,

That is the way actually. All you need to do is make sure the total
percentage of CPU time allocated for your vm's equals 100% - the cpu time you
want to reserve for your physical machine.
