VHD convertion problem

Hi all,
I try to convert my 20G Fixed Size VHD to dynamic VHD, after convert
the Windows 2003 enterprise server cannot start ( it shows the crashed
blue screen and keep restart itself), save mode not helping much nor
the recover disk. Is there anything I need to take care during the
convertion?
