I have been struggling for a couple of days trying to synch my
Blackberry to my office Exchange Server using Blackberry Desktop
(required for the 1st synch).

Blackberry Desktop manager wont find the USB device from inside Virtual
PC. The mac sees the device, and an alternate PC sees the device...

I will spare the details, but I have come to the conclusion that this
is related to the fact that Virtual PC supports USB 1.1 and the drivers
for RIM-USB are USB 2.0.

It just doesn't seem to locate and discover the device.

Does anyone know of a work-around, or if MS is planning to provide USB
2.0 support for Virtual PC? I am going off of info discovered on other
boards, so feel free to correct me if you think I have missed
something.

I purchased Pocketmac to sync the blackberry with my Entourage
contacts, but I have to make one connection with my office server on a
Windows machine for the initial handshake that will enable my
Blackberry to get my work calendar and mail.

I have not successfully synched the Entourage data, becasue the
application quits after the initial handshake. It reads blackberry data
to place on the Mac, but as soon as it starts to read the Mac data to
put on the handheld, it quits.

I have an open support ticket with Pocketmac, but have not received a
response from them. If it is a Tiger issue, they say on their site that
they are working on updates, so I am guessing that is what it is. At
least with them, I know it is their core business and they will get it
worked out.

With VPC, I have no hopes that they will get it worked out so I have to
find another way to go. I have a PC, but of all the luck here on Friday
the 13th, my hard drive just crashed. (No data lost because I haven't
even turned it on in months. I got the relevant data off of it back in
November.

So for now, it looks like I will have to carry around a BlackBerry that
doesn't get mail until either my mail server gets the wireless software
for MS Exchange server, or I go to the corp office in NY...
