I tried to update virtual pc 7 to 7.0.1 but it is asking for me to
insert my cd to continue the update. It figures i cant find the sucker
so everytime i start it up it asks to continue the update. how can i
get rid of this and continue with 7.0 it works fine for me. or finish
upgrading?

installed on this computer. Virtual PC is in the applications folder. I
installed Tiger last night and thought maybe that would fix the problem
but the update to 7.0.1 still won't install. I don't think I really
need 7.0.1 but will want to install the upgrade that relates to Tiger.
If 7.0.1 won't install, I assume the newer update won't install? Any
ideas on how to get the 7.0.1 to install?

I run VPC 7 fine. When I first installed Tiger, I thought it was a lot
slower. After shutting down and doing a restart, VPC 7 seems to be
about the same speed as with 10.3.9.

I'd like to be able to update to 7.0.1 to have the latest and to know
that if there's an update I really need, I'll be able to install it.

And then you tried to update Virtual PC to 7.0.1 and it asks for the
Virtual PC CD?

If so, I wonder if Virtual PC 7.0 needs to be re-installed after the
upgrade to Tiger in order to upgrade to 7.0.1?

Anyone out there able to confirm this???

It wouldn't upgrade to 7.0.1 before I installed Tiger. It gave the same
error message that Virtual PC is not installed on this computer. It
doesn't ask for anything - it just says VPC is not installed. VPS is in
the applications folder where it belongs.

In that case, I would uninstall it using the uninstaller in the Tool
and Manuals folder on the CD.

And then re-install.......but you don't need to create a new VM.

Then do the upgrade to 7.0.1

No. Not at all.

When you use the uninstaller on the CD, it will not remove the Virtual
PC List folder which contains your Windows image.
