VPC 7 / XP Arrived

Message:

I Received VPC 7 / XP Monday. Installed it on my Dual 2gig G5 with 1.5
meg of ram.

Installation went pretty well except when installing XP Pro I had a
little glitch, but if you pay attention to the on screen instructions
you can figure it out. MS still can't get the plug and play quite right.

I installed Office 2000 and Visio and both worked very well. I don't
have any really complex Word or Excel documents to test, but I couldn't
out type word even just pressing the keys on the keybord as fast as I
could.
Visio works very smooth adding objects and rearanging after placement.
I have my printer attached to my Airport Extreme Base Station and
printed to it without having to configure anything. However Windows 2000
would not print to it. I have not figured that out yet.
Next I installed Windows 2000 Pro and it seems to work marginally faster
than XP.

The CPU reports as 533 mhz with 512 Meg of ram and 16 meg of video ram.

Installed autocad 2000 today and it runs very well on VPC in XP Pro.
Very usable. On a regular full size drawing, I was able to zoom and pan
smoothly and add / move components easlly. My frind sent me a complex
drawing because he said it choked his PC and while it taxed my machine
it seems to work better than his PC. ( He could not tell me what his PC
ran at but it is an older machine )

Tried to load a PC game ( Luftwaffe Commander ) and Install wizard just
started and quit without installing the program. I don't know if it is
VPC or something else causing the problem. it was written in 98 and the
requirements a well below what VPC's specs are.

Bill
