Printing from Virtual PC to HP Photosmart 8250

I have a Mac G4 running on OSX 10.4.3
Printing on HP Photosmart 8250
The Virtual PC 7,0.2 is running on Windowes 2000 Pro

There is no problen printing from the Mac OS.

However whenever I try to print from Virtual PC, configured to print
from the default Mac printer: PC Setting USB enabled, Printer HP 8200
series. The document spools to the printer queue, Status indicates
printing, After a minute or two I get an Error Message. "Error found
when printing document".

The problem started only after I updated my printer from a HP
Photosmart 7550 to the Photosmart 8250.

Is it a problem with the printer or with the Virtual PC setup?

Just 5 minutes ago I got off line with HP Mac tech support and they said this is not supported. Okay in direct connect to Mac but not with networking. Apparently Mac networking is not "stable" enough. I plan to take mine back to store where I bought it since there was no warning.

Tech support said HP 8750 or 6940 shouild be okay.

Any bets????
