HELP! Installed software disappeared VPC6

Yesterday I installed QuickBooksPro in Windows XP in Virtual PC 6 on a
Mac Mini. It worked fine.
When I closed VPC the shutdown alert window came up and Save to PC was
checked, and instead of "carry forward undoable changes" I checked
"save hard drive changes" thinking that was how to make sure it was
saved.

However, on opening VPC today that entire program was gone so I did
something incorrect when VPC was shut down.

Right now, after over 2 hours of crunch time to re-install QB and get
the activation code, etc, it's back up and sitting there because I
don't know for certain what to do to keep the newly installed program
IN windows IN VPC. My major reason for use of VPC is to access the PC
version of Quick Books PRO as the Mac version does not support two key
aspects of the PC version that I need to review periodically for our
church. (Reconcile and Payroll)

HElp please.. Using VPC and Windows is totally new experience even
though I've 14 years Mac experience with multiple MAC's including
system support.
