Saved State won"t start up

Hi all... I was using VPC yesterday like always, and quit using saved
state. When I went to the start menu today to load it back up, it said
that it could not load the start menu. When I then opened the VPC
application, it came up as if it were the first time I had ever opened
it, asking me where I wanted to install an OS from.

I still have the VPC package in my Virtual PC List folder. When I
double click on it now, it says "No C Drive specified". I tried
removing the saved state file and opening but that takes me back to the
install new OS setup screen.

I have no idea what to do but hopefully (and probably) one of you is
smarter than me.

need to create a new virtual machine. Or did you think to take a copy
of Windows for backup purposes?

For what it's worth, quitting VPC and putting Windows in a saved state
may be convenient but carries the distinct danger of corrupting the
boot record of Windows
